Wyandot County Obits


Lois Jean Jury, 80, lived in Forest. 

Date: She died Saturday January 23rd, 2010 at 1 a.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center surrounded by her family as she went to be with the Lord.

Personal Information: Mrs. Jury was born June 21st, 1929 in Ada to Gale E. and Geneva E. (Jackson) Poling. She married Kenneth E. Jury on November 9, 1949 in Plymouth. She was a member of Forest UMC, United Methodist Women, Latham Chapter #70 OES, American Legion Auxiliary #259, Child Guidance Mothers Club, Farmer Eighty & Forty, Hardin County Community Foundation, HMH Guild, Rainbow Girls, and the former Pythian Sisters. She, along with Francis Cramer and Dorothy Snider, were in charge of the food pavilion for the Tree Town Festival for many years. These three ladies were honored by fellow members of the Forest community as Citizens of the Year. Lois and her husband, Kelly, were also proud to be selected Grand Marshals of the Tree Town Festival Parade. She absolutely loved serving her community and church families and did so cheerfully and tirelessly for many of her 80 years. Lois Jean was a special lady-an integral part of our family. Her loving presence, positive attitude, and sweet personality will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survived By: Mrs. Jury’s husband survives her along with two daughters: Marjorie J. Young of Upper Sandusky, Mary L. (Paul) Buchenroth of Florence, South Carolina, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three sisters: Martha Jane Wigle of Forest, Carolyn Sue (Patrick) Galligher of Forest and Ruth Ann Poling of Forest. Her daughter: Marilyn J. Keating preceded her in death along with one son: Michael Jury.

Funeral Services: Clark Shields Funeral Home in Forest is handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be Wednesday January 27th, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Livingston officiating. Burial will follow in Hueston Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday January 26th, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 South Patterson Forest Ohio 45843.
