Ohio Gas Prices Up 18 Cents
03-10-2008
Ohio gasoline prices are soaring as oil prices hit new record highs.

The Daily Fuel Gauge Report from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service shows regular-grade gas is now averaging about $3.25 a gallon around the state, up a steep 18 cents from last Monday.

A year ago, Ohio motorists were paying about $2.52 per gallon.

The current national average price for regular is a little over $3.22, just a half-cent below last May's all-time high.

Crude oil set a record at $106.54 per barrel on Friday. Analysts blame high crude and gasoline prices on the weak dollar, a drop in U.S. oil inventories and OPEC's decision last week to hold output steady rather than increase it.
