OSUM Hosting Wage and Hour Seminar

The Alber Enterprise Center and The Ohio State University at Marion will host a U.S. Department of Labor Informational Seminar, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Maynard Hall, Room 200 on the Marion campus.

According to organizers, the information presented at the one-day informational session is to help protect all employers, specifically human resource professionals and those in supervisory roles. The primary goal of the seminar is to help keep organizations up-to-date and compliant with wage and hour laws.

The seminar will feature federal investigators/experts from Wage & Hours; Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, (EEOC); Employee Benefits Security Administration, (EBSA); Fair Labor Standards Act, (FSLA); Federal Child Labor Laws, (CL); Family Medical Leave Act, (FMLA); and Ohio Safety and Health Act (OSHA).

Information pertaining to OSHA requirements, who is eligible for FMLA, how to properly compute pay and wages, records maintenance, and more will be part of the information presented.
