The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Department of Youth Services are still investigating an incident that occurred Saturday at the Juvenile Correctional Facility on Marion-Williamsport Road.

Around 60 youths engaged in a fight in the facility’s outdoor recreation area.

Officials say the fight was contained quickly by staff without anyone, including the offenders, suffering any serious injuries.

Andrea Kruse, a spokeswoman for the Department said the investigation was still on going and her office would not release additional details until the investigation is over.

She says the fight comes days after two male juveniles were accused of assaulting a female officer.

An investigation is ongoing in that incident.

The officer did not suffer severe injuries.

The facility is scheduled to be closed this summer as a cost saving maneuver for the Department of Youth Services.
