A new survey of Ohio's health care coverage shows the number of uninsured adults rose during the past four years as unemployment increased, while fewer children lack insurance.
The Ohio Family Health Survey released on Monday. The state-funded survey shows 17 percent of adults ages 18 to 64 _ or 1.2 million people _ lacked health insurance from 2004 to 2008. That's a two percent increase since the last report was released in 2004.
Four percent of Ohio's children are uninsured, down from 5.4 percent. State officials attribute the drop to the expanded Children's Health Insurance Program, which provides coverage to children in low-income families.
