Veterans Getting More Ohio College Benefits
07-11-2008

Any military veteran, along with their families, can attend an Ohio college at the in-state tuition rate, according to an executive order signed into law by Governor Ted Strickland on Tuesday.

The order, dubbed “The Ohio GI Promise”, will basically give full scholarships to eligible veterans.

Legislation is also being presented that would allow National Guard Scholarships to apply to graduate work, books, transportation, supplies, and housing instead of undergraduate tuition and fees as they are limited to now.

A hotline and website have been set up with information about the program.

Veterans can call 1-877-838-6446 or visit universitysystem.ohio.gov/veterans for more information.
